Default GM vs. aftermarket lifters

I've searched and the responses seem to be split as to whether to go with aftermarket lifters or not. My question is will aftermarket OEM replacements (crane, comp) deal with any more spring pressure than the stockers? I'm getting ready to do a H/C swap and wanted to know if it's worth it to replace them.
I will be running PRC duals and a cam with about .600 lift.

I'd strongly advise you not to use Comp R's. Do a search and you'll find countless others that agree with me.

Yeah, when I searched a lot of people said the comp R's aren't worth the trouble, I'm asking about the aftermarket OEM replacement's only.

with your car being an 01 i'd keep the stockers, but if you still want them get the comp 850's

That's probably what I'll do, only 12k miles on them, just figured since I'll have the heads off if I can put some in that will last longer than stockers I would. I see people run cams like the t-rex with stock lifters, so I guess I should be good.

i bought the 850's because my stockers had almost 100k miles on them and i was pulling the heads anyway. plus the 850's priced out a hell of alot cheaper then OEM's. i got mine for 179 during a TR sale.

Yeah, I know a few people with over 500rwhp running stock lifters with lots of passes on them, and the Comp R's are driving me nuts, so I'm putting OEM replacements back in next weekend when I do my head/intake swap.

Price played a big factor in choosing lifters for me. Knowing what I know now, I may have just left my stock ones alone afterall but you know how hindsight is.

Comp Cams makes an equivalent of the OEM GM roller and it works great. Cheaper too...

Would I be assuming correctly that the Comp OEM replacement lifters use the stock plastic lifter guides, or do they come with their own guides?
