Default Suggest a cam for my hunk of crap

Hello,
I'm looking into a cam for my 01 M6 Z28 but there are some factors that will effect my choice. Also, assume the car will have every bolt on with stock heads. (I.E longtubes, lid, all that garbage)

1. the car will very much so be a daily driver. Sometimes 100+ miles a day. Mostly highway.
2. the car will NEVER see the track
3. The car will probably never even see drag radials
4. I want it to sound as lopey as possible
5. since i havnt done gears yet, I can get 3.73's or 4.10's to work with the cam

so basically i want something that sounds as insane (as possible), and will work for occassional highway romps and stoplight smoke shows. all without ill effect to daily driving (again, if possible)

Thanks for any input!

The TR 224 is a great choice for a daily driver although I'm not sure it will lope like you want it to. The gm hotcam would lope for you and give great valvespring life, but it won't put up the numbers that the tr224 will although you'll still get a good gain with it.

go with a numericaly lower lobe separation number on the cam. Ex: 112 , 110 LSA.

Definately go with futral. My buddy has the f-11 and while its quite nice, we were expecting more lope from it. Id say to look at the f-13. If I was doing a cam swap today on my daily driver, thats the cam Id get.

if you want a fast cam only car, TSP makes great products.

but keep in mind good gas consumption is sacrificed for speed...

i think what u want lies in a 94' honda civic or something similar that can be driven millions of miles on 1 tank of gas, then get whatever cam u want for the ls1 man.

doubt that 100 mile ride is going to be a lot of fun with a big lopey cam. just my .02

God i hate these FMXX cams. List the Fing specs. What the hell are the specs on the FM11/13/what ever the hell else they have in the FMXX cams DAMN. IF you want some insain idle go with the TSP233/233 cam.

Tell me about it. Its hard to keep up with all the grinds available. c1, c2, b1, t1, trex, on and on.

If wicked idle is the number one criteria get a the gm asa cam or grand cup cam. nothing idles rougher than them.

I don't think length of ride with or without a lopey cam is any different. Once you're at cruising speed, the lope is gone. I had a 69 Grand Prix that had such a radical cam in it you'd think it was going to stall on the low side. I used to drive that from Long Island to Oneonta (270+ miles) and back regularly.

Gotta say... nuthin like that "Rump Rump Rump" sound and feel sitting at a light.
