Default Which heads to go with FM13 Cam to get close to 450rwhp?

Trying to pick a H/C combo that can get me close to 450rwhp and still maintain good streetability. Thats why I started with the F13 but not sure which heads would be best. Oh and by the way, its on a budget...

I made 440 rwhp thru a 12 bolt and heavy 18" wheels. So 450+rwhp should be possible thru your 10 bolt with the PP LS6 style heads. I agree with Vortech, check out FFHP, they have the PP heads and can do a good job for you.

I'd love to have AFR or TEA heads, but unless i can find them second hand, they are out of my price range. For buying new, I would probably have to look into the Patriot's or other hands in that price range...I just wasn't sure if the PP stage 2 LS6 heads would flow well enough or not...

1fastws6, those dyno numbers are with the FM13, not the TR224 right? Any new track times with the FM13? How much power/tq did you pick up when you switched to the FM13?

I am ordering h/c tomorrow actually from FFHP. They are some great people to work with! As Vortech said, give Brad a call: 502-243-4846.

I haven't taken it to the track since I ran the 12.3 with my old cam. Hopefully this year now that the wedding and the move into the house is behind me i'll be there. I really need a 12 bolt though. I'm afraid to launch it really hard at the track with my DR's. As far as 03-04 Cobras, I ran 2 and I've beaten both by a couple of cars. It's also depends on the driver. I can drive my car really well.

Were the cobra's modified or stock? You should kill stock cobra's no problem, I was wondering about modded ones in the 450rwhp range...

Yeah I don't blame you about not wanting to launch on the stock rear with DR's and 400+rwhp

Another vote for the hand finished Stage 1.5 TEA 5.3's (if you're on a budget- they're decently affordable, give TEA a call). I'll have new numbers soon with a FAST 90/90 combo and new QTP HVM Long Tubes. The car's been down for a while for rear end repairs, but I hope to hit at least 440rwhp through a 9inch with 4.11's using the H/C combo I have in my sig.

Search for Damion's posts for his F13/TEA results. TEA and FMS cams are a proven combination. If I didn't have the $$ I would hold out and get what you really want.

im not sure about the compression but i think it was without milling 10.28:1 the afr heads also give you more P-V clearance. if you get into milling heads to get a higher CR your gonna run into P-V problems. i think with the factory head .08 is the clearance which is good. you dont wanna drop below that. no doubt tea makes a good head thats waht everyone told me to get. i wish i still had allans email but i asked them if that head would be a good choice and he said yes, and it woudl make killer mid range power and those numbers i told you

But other than the ability to do additional porting, what does the TEA heads over the PP stage 2 LS6 heads. It seems those Patriot heads are putting out the same if not more power as the TEA and other heads seem to be with the same cam

And the patriot heads are only $1399, or you can even find them brand new but second hand for around $1000. As an example, someone local to me just had them for sale and he was going to take $950 for them (they were brand new), but someone paypal'd him the money before I could get them.

So I am just curious what are all the benefits of a TEA head over the patriots and is it really worth the difference in price??

Those are with the FM13. Gained 20rwhp going from the TR224 to the FM13. Here's the details.

I'm not all that sure if they were stock or not. Chances are they were. They we both really nice cars though. Yeah, the rear is the next thing on my list right now.
