Default LS1 will be part of the Engine Masters Challenge. .

Just reading this months PRI and the LS1 will be 1 of 2 engine configurations that engine builders will compete with to see who makes the most power. Ratings taken from 2500 to 6500 rpm and the average torque and hp are combined to talley the score. Should be interesting.

Does Kaase (sp) build Chevy motors? I didn't think he'd touch one so it's a pretty open field if he doesn't show up. IMHO

Kaase may but the other combination will be 509 CID engine, so I am sure Jon will be busy with that one.

Thats cool. I was wondering when it might be included. I think in this years challenge it would have destroyed everyone else in the 410 cu inch competition.

The father son team that has won second place the last two years is from the local area here. They aren't a big name and just do it for the fun of it.
I'll shoot Donald an e-mail and see what he knows about the LS1's being in the mix. Last I heard they were building two differant motors for this years competion.
I wonder if any of the shops from here on LS1Tech will enter ? Time to step up fellas......who's in

Chris,

Not to discredit anything but, it doesn't say anywhere or anything about an LS-1 being involved in the EMC. We send a guy up there every year and this year is just big block. They only do one model a year. big block-small block-big block-small block .Plus the fact that they have never allowed a distributorless ignition system.

Brian,
Page 143 of PRI issue this month. . I quote " in '05 to include two separate events, a Big Block Challenge and LS-1 Challenge."

Floyd,
If someone ask I may work with them. I sure we will be doing some "wicked" pan designs at the shop, we always do.

What mag is PRI? I thought it was a Popular Hot Rodding mag thing? Would be cool to see an LS1 in there.

We will be taking a hard look at it. I can't see why we would not do it.

Chris S.,

Thanks for the info I'll be sure to talk to you about one of those soon.

I'm interested in seeing what kind of chamber designs the builders come up with for this event. Kaase had 27 CC chambers, and a .500 gasket if I remember right.
