Default Jerking at low RPM's

Sup guys... I have an M6 and have had previously owned auto 4th gens. When the car is rolling very slow in traffic it starts jerking and I either have to push in the clutch or gas it. Is that normal for the M6's or has it something to do with the Spec 3.

thanks

Thats cam surge from the overlap on the Hotcam. Having a Spec 3 only makes it harder to slip the clutch a little to calm it down.

thanks guys. That's what I was figuring, I just wasnt sure if was common with the M6's. My A4 hadn't had any problems but I got the tune when I built motor on that one.

Tuning can help a lot and sometimes eliminate cam surge.

I think he may speaking of normal surge/bucking...mine does it too with stock cam....almost like a driveline shudder at VERY slow speeds(5-10 mph). Yours may be more noticable with the hotcam... but I think it's a normal characteristic....I also think my 4.10s made mine less noticable.

Mine is tuned and still has cam surge, I think it is normal if you are at a very slow speed and the clutch is engaged and holding. You don't feel it in an auto as much if any because the convertor is absorbing the surge.

Cam surge is freakin weak. I have been fighting with it for a long long time. Some is gone, but the very low RPM stuff is still there. It sucks.

no his car wasnt tuned.. but ive seen tuned cars do it worse than untuned. I have yet to see anyone totally get rid of the cam surge yet in cars I know...

supposedly they can help it, but to me cam surge is cam surge. Feels like the rear wants to buck outta the car when you coast at low rpms..

just part of the internal mod process

Even the stock cam will only take so much of being lugged at low speeds, and of course it will be worse with a big cam. When you have a race horse, you've got to let him run . . . rev that Chevy like a Ferrari! You're not driving a feed truck.

I have to say the stock tunning is pretty good in these cars compared to OBD1 electronics with an LT1. My '93 bucks more with stock cam than my LS1 with TR224.
