Need help CAM GURUS please help
Need help CAM GURUS please help I have an MTI Z1 (236/236 .585 .585 112). I called MTI once a few weeks ago and they said that i would have no problems with this cam in a stock cubic inch motor as long as the heads were not milled. So i called them back today to double check before i put the cam in, and i was told that there would definatly be p/v clearence issues.
SO WHICH IS IT???
i figured that since i cant get one answer from MTI i would ask you guys.

Well, that is the thing with piston to valve clearence. Nobody can tell yoou wether or not it will clear. There are too many variables in the motor that will determine that. You ALWAYS need to check piston to valve clearence yourself. The main thing with this cam clearing is where it is installed at. If you put it in straight up or retarded a little bit you probably won't have a problem. Thing is nobody wants to say "hey yeah it will clear" and them be wrong..espically if you don't check it and fire the motor and bend all the valves or maybe worse.
so what your saying is as long as i install it dot to dot then i should be ok? now if i even put it in im going to clay it to double check, but im trying to make sure its worth my time to put it in and check.
