the macs cant be hurting him that badly if at all really, guys with ported macs and ory, are running forced induction setups to 600hp and higher, noiw if there ever was a motor that needed to breathe it would be that one lol

New pistons, mill heads = $1,250-1,750 (roughly) - Weeks without the car
If you are going to increase the compression, sell the engine and get a new rotating assembly.

Gotta pay to play. If you don't want to do it, that's fine. Jerami, JRP, gave the best advice so far. See if the machine shop will replace the pistons.

I had a small time machine work that builds race motors do my work (i know that was the first mistake), he doesn't have much experience with LS1's. When i asked him why they were dished he said that he thought I didn't want too high of compression, I told him I wanted 11:1, just not over 11.3 or 11.5:1,
Now another question has come to my attention. With the Diamond pistons and the smaller 0.927 wrist pins, what size rods are you supposed to use? My piston card says 6.125", and I checked my records and called LS1 Speed, and they said my rods were 6.098"

Just got off the phone with Ron w/ Diamond, and he says he hopes I was wanting to force air into this motor!
My compression is right around 8.5-9:1. If I didn't want to change compression I was supposed to use the bigger 6.125" rods. Oh well looks like I either have to sell the motor or have a really slow, low compression NA car

i calculate ~9.3 CR, with a 7.5 DCR. this is using a stock gasket and deck height.
milling another .020 and running a .020 gasket will net you a 10.6 SCR and a 8.4 DCR and a quench of .039
