asa cam is outdated lobe design for application not like then 99% of people run. you dont see it being run much, Ive only tuned a couple, and makes ok power.. but you can make same power with less cam, or more power with just as much cam

like....
I would not mind seeing a couple of examples.
And how about the low lift what the ASA has. You can call it anything but a spring killer.

Default ASA head cam package

I loved mine! It put out about 410rwhp 400rwt on a crappy tune with 3:90, and high 11.xx afr. No worries on blowing lifters or springs or rod bolts, I only had to pull it to about 6400-6600(tach lag).
The technology is def. better now for overall power but this still carries its weight and imo, sounds better than anything else in its range.

ASA is amazing. An oldish grind with low lift making about the same power as a TR224 (sometimes even better). I'd consider using it for the low lift alone. Never change valve springs again.
With today's tuning, it's driveable daily.

Just use the correct lobes, valvetrain and rpm and you can run .580 lift with no worries about springs with the right springs. even 918s laugh at the cams most guys run when setup properly.

The ASA cam has the absolutely meanest TQ curve I have EVER seen in ANY LS1 application. Period. Not another cam on the market that makes a flatter TQ curve line than the ASA.

The question is, would it be worth it to swap from a Hotcam to an ASA cam, or just say screw it and go bigger like the TSP 233/233?

That's why I'm going to get the ASA.

yes thats what the ones ive tuned made for the most part. A true dual exhaust setup will help witht he midrange torque Id say, but a cam with that overlap on other lobes is likely to make 400-420
