Those look great. I am doing a 402 with a solid roller and am waiting for block from machine shop to do mock up and check my piston to valve before I decide on lift. I am looking at about 250 duration and .650 lift. on 112. Wonder what you are going with?

Those are some high dollar pieces. I wish I had the scrilla for them, but I chose the Morels. Who's did/is doing your cylinder heads?

Best o' luck with the setup it looks very impressive

Floyd.

I have a 408 with 26x/27x 635/645 on a 112 with custom 13cc domed pistons with a hole cut for the sparkplug. LOL You will be fine.

Just a little word of advise,
I run a very similar grind on my 427 with thr extended body Jesels, you may have an issue with oil pressure @ high rpms unless you have the lifter bores sleeved. If you hav'nt had it done already, do it, you'll be glad you did!

I hear some have issues. I used the new Comp drop in lifters with a 280/286 .721 lift cam. No probs here.

Btl Fed,
I can't argue that all will have problems, but one of my customers had his C5R block destroyed completely when he had this issue, on the 3rd pass of a brand new engine! This happened this past fall and his cam was less aggressive, possibly a smaller base circle, but with the identical lifters that you just purchased ( and are in my engine)
That's a big hit! I took the safer route, my C5R is getting the bores bushed right now, just so i can sleep at night!
Hope it works out ok for you.

What are the issues and with running solids and not bushing the bores? Is this an oil pressure issue?

Don't want to hijack this thread, just trying to help save anyone some heartache,
With the smaller base circle ,high duration-lift custom grind camshafts some of the big-bore/strokers have had problems @ high rpm's, bleeding off oil pressure because of the extreme travel of the lifter in the bore, even with the special extended body Jesel lifter.

Bushing the bore corrects this as well as the bore clearance, We also use a special pushrod which has a restricter inside it, cuts the oiling down about 50% to the top end, which also helps.
Often this press. drop is not that noticable, maybe drop off to 45-48 over 7000 rpm, and appears to be gradual, but can result in catastropic engine damage.
Talk to your engine builder about this if you plan on running a similar package!

The stock lifter bores are only good to about ~ .348 Lift @ Lobe. Some of us are able to work around it some of us can't.

What about the Morel solid lifters. Their bodys are supposed to be taller. Is this only an issue with c5-r blocks? Do they have different lifter bore heights?
