Default Forged pistons - which are best for stock rods?

I need a new set of pistons and rings for my LS1. Who makes the best forged pistons? I am looking to keep the same compression as the stock piston but with flycuts. I would also like to over-bore as much as possible (347ci).

So far it looks like Diamonds are the most popular....but are they the best and lightest?

Diamond makes a nice part, as does Mahle. Never had a piston failure in ten years running diamons in 418 small block

ive had diamonds, im not ******* them at all, i have a set of them in the garage currently.

With using the stock rods, figured this was somewhat a budget build, and the mahles are a good bit cheaper and come with rings. thats all

either one is a good choice, i loved the diamonds i had

Mahle's are goin in my motor. I would say you can't go wrong with Wiseco's, Mahle's, Diamond's or JE's.

Make sure you get the correct Pin for the stock Rods.

Lingenfelter. It's what they use in their "budget" 348 CID motors.

I got the budget motor from LPE with the Mahle's.

I also noticed texas speed now carries the Mahle pistons as well although NOT in a -2cc model. FWIW.

If you are looking for the least expensive piston, Diamond is a fair choice.

If you are looking for the best piston, start with JE

I think it is fair to say I am looking for the best, providing they aren't $1000set. Can anyone tell me why the JEs are better than the Diamonds? If they are lighter I am sold!
