so my crank isnt stripped-im lost
i just cranked down an arp crank bolt to 200ft ibs. i held the crank with a socket. so i put the car in 4th gear but the crank, pulley and flywheel still spin while car is in gear. i tore the car apart again and checked the torque tube-tranny and rear output shafts and all are ok-not stripped. the clutch is a spec 3 with 2k miles on it. is the clutch fried?

Did you try another gear? Sometimes if the shifter is not adj. just right it won't stay in gear, especially with the engine not running. I don't think 200lbs of torque is enough to spin through a bad clutch though, if you didn't have headers you could pull off the inspection cover from the bottom side of the clutch bellhousing and double check.

Something is not making sense here. If the rear wheels hold, it is the engine that's holding them, meaning clutch and tranny are holding the engine, but if you turn the engine the clutch doesn't hold it?
Release the brake, put it in first and turn the engine - do the rear wheels turn, car move?

If your spinning the engine over by hand, with car in 4th gear , e-brake up , and the engine keeps on spinning. Either your not in gear or your clutch is not holding up. Was the clutch going bad before you installed the pulley ? Or have you replaced something else your not telling us ?
