TR224 cam, opinions?
It's a Thunder Racing cam 224/224 and .561/.561 on a 112 LSA.
Seems like I may get an awesome deal on one and just wanted other's opinions on how well it would match up.
Currently only have a 2800 stall and cut-out, I will be upgrading to a 3500ish stall SOON and plans include gears (273s currently)
I know this is a smaller cam but will I be happy with it and what gains could be expected?
Also, any other recommendations for a better cam for my setup?
Thanks for the help!

That cam makes real good power in the midrange where it counts on the street. If you can get a good deal on it, I'd say go for it, esp considering that cam is pretty auto-friendly.

with this cam, good heads, Hooker LTs, and 2.5" true duals in an '01 Z28 (M6), I was able to pull 400rwh/385rwtq in the middle of the summer (110F) on a stock short block (346) with cracked pistons (ring lands on 6 or the 8 pistons were cracked....#7 the rings were melted)......
I would say the TR224, 112LSA is probubly the best all around cam for a 346CI engine on the market today...hands down......it drives nice, it sounds good (a mild lope), it makes good power, gets good Miles/Gal, etc.......hands down all around best....

I would say I like my cam (332rwhp 345rwtq) with my mods. I think it's pretty good because it's my daily driver. Everytime I see other F-Body's around with bigger cams it always makes me want to go bigger. But good ole emissions has to mess things up and I really don't want to go to the ref. Plus with a few other bolt on's you'll probably see numbers in the 370ish to 390ish range I would say depending on a4 or m6 car.

Your only making 332rwhp and 345rwtq with the tr224 cam? It seems like you should be making more then that....

If you're running long tubes, you'll make the most power by installing it at 112 intake centerline (no advance). If the cam was ground +4, then you'll need to retard it 4 degrees for it to be straight up (112 ICL).
