I'd like to know how gas mileage(no smartass "WHAT'S GAS MILEAGE? AH-HAHA, AH-HAHA" comments, please) was affected, as well. I'll be choosing a cam over the summer, hopefully, and the F11 and F13 cams are looking nice.

I am very happy with the F13, in every way. I would have gone a little bigger, but at the time I was afraid of getting too big of a cam.

My mileage has stayed right 31 mpg on the highway.

Sound files in my sig...

Love mine......i regert not going bigger but then again I have not seen too many bigger cams out perform it so I am happy. Seems like FMS hit the sweer spot with this one. My gas milage is very poor right now. I have invalifd switching (SES codes) on both front 02s and have replacements waiting to go in.

I've spent countless hours reading up on cams here and yet hardly anybody speaks about affecting gas mileage. All I hear about is, WOOHOO FUTRAL IS AWESOME BALHB AHLBAHLB GET THE F13. I know it hits nice, I've heard sound files, but I want to know what it's going to affect.

I have had both the F11 and F13 cams. As far as gas goes, I see about 15 or so in town and consistantly 25+ on the highway with 4.11's.

Any cam is goin to affect gas mileage unless you get a Z06 cam.. aftermarket is for performance not gas mileage. LSA will usually determine how much overlap and how rich the cam will act. Therefore I would think a F13 will probably be just like my tr224 on gas mileage, its not killing me but the gas mileage has decreased from the stocker. Goes with the territory if your moding the engine dont expect gas mileage to stay the same. To make more power you will naturally need more GAS! hope this gives you a new point of view.

On my car, the city mpg went down a little (from ~17 to ~15), but my highway mpg actually got a little better (from ~25 to ~27), I have no idea why. Overall, with my average commute, the difference was negligible.

I just put in a FM11 and TEA heads a few weeks ago. It feels awesome, but I don't drive it all the time so it's hard to get a feel for gas mileage. I haven't had it fully tuned yet either so that's a factor. I live in the city so when I drive it there are a lot of stop signs in the way and it kills my gas mileage. It's always been outstanding on the highway though.

I didn't need a new point of view, I needed numbers to back the cams up. Thanks, though.

First off, you hijacked someone else's thread. Second off, these people are going out of their way to help you and answer your question. I think his post was informative and helpful. Your last post just makes you sound like a dick. All im saying is dont **** where you eat.

BTW: If you search, most f11 and f13 cams lose about 2-3 MPG on average, but most admit they have a problem keeping their foot out of it.

If you're that concerned about gas mileage that you have to come across like an *** about it, then you're in the wrong place... these boards are for performance-minded people, not those looking to save a buck or two on gas. Besides, gas mileage is subjective between drivers, conditions, and complete setups... a cam will only tell part of the story. All things being equal, a search will tell you that most people with this size of cam will lose at least a couple of mpg over stock.

If gas mileage is going to keep you awake at night, I hear Honda is having great success with their hybrids, as is VW with their TDIs.

Most F13 owners seem to say they wish they would have gone a little bigger, would it be safe to say the F14 might be a little bigger?

Futral says they are actually very close, yet different. The F14 has a different lobe design and its powerband is about 200rpm higher.

Anyway, I already bought the F14...anxously awaiting my heads which are being meticulously massaged

I have no regrets with my cam. I mean why go bigger when i made the power i did. Its very streetable with 4:10 gears and the lope is nice for the size of the cam. In the city i averaged 14.5 mpg but i NEVER was easy on the car. I just couldn't help it. Never got on the freeway to get the highway mpg, but im sure if everyone i'll get what everyone else is getting. Its just a great all around street/strip cam IMO.

You should have no problem with tuning. I have very little surge at low RPMs. If I can sit in 30 miles of bumper to bumper jersey traffic on my way to work then I think no one could object to it's drivability.

Drivability is great.
I am getting about 25 mpg on the highway, with the G5X2 mail order tune.
It should get better once I get around to tune it.
