Default 5000 to spend N/A, F/I, help me

IM getting a loan for 5k and I really want to know what I should get. I really want a turbo or twin turbo set-up. What kinda power increase will I get, and what kinda gas mileage are we talking like 8mpg or something. I just want 500hp and im done. So im IN a bind because i want 500hp and still keep 14 mpg city.

If I were you I would check out STS. I was at the dyno getting my car tuned about three weeks ago when the tuner started showing me pics and telling me about this company. He was a dealer so he did know alot about it and said that for 5K he could install and tune it, parts included. I also saw a bone stock T/A(when I say stock I mean not even exhaust) that put down 508rwhp w/ 547 tq. @ 8psi. It also put down 463rwhp with only 5 psi. I would probably only run 5 or 6 psi with stock internals but that's up to you. However I think that the numbers on a bone stock engine are very impressive. If you have headers and a cam and all the bolt ons this will definately get you where you want to be with a safe 5 or 6 psi and a good tune.
I hope this helps you out.

If you only have $5k then STAY AWAY FROM F/I.
You WILL spend a lot more then $5K in the end......
Do a set of heads and a cam and a 12 bolt and a Bottle.......
Thats what i should of done.... would of been way cheaper and saved me $30K.
But hey thats just my .02 ..........
Not like i havent done it and got the T-shirt ha ha

5k might buy you the kit, you will need another 5k to fix everything that breaks and other stuff to make it work right.

Go h/c and strap on a bottle.

go with a nice H/C package, stall or clutch, and rearend, that should put you right there or a little over it.
dont worry about FI, as stated above you'll spend more than you plan to fix other stuff. the STS stuff is nice, but you will still new a new clutch or stall, and rear if you plan on putting the power on the ground...

Go N/A as F/I will cost you way more in the end. Ask any F/I owner and see if they got away with only spending 5k and have had it running awhile.

Go H/C, LT's(since you don't have them yet), and if you have enough leftover, a 12 bolt or 9 inch.

Here's my advice: Don't take out a loan if it's just to spend money on mods! Just save up little by little, buy the basic bolt-ons first, then save up for the bigger tings. Why on earth would you want to go into debt just for a heads/cam package?

NOTE: This is just my opinion, flame away if you feel the need!

Agreed. But I once took out a similar loan when I was 20 to buy a Paxton Novi for my grand prix! It was a great way to build more credit and enjoy it! My car was already paid off so it was either that or buy a bike and likely kill myself lol.

A4 or M6? Makes a big difference in mod selection.

H/C and spray with a 12-bolt and you can run 10`s all day long. Take my word for it!!

Personally...Id buy some AFR heads (205+) and a wicked cam, lots of spray, some fuel upgrades, and a 12 bolt.

Default thanks

see I already payed off my car got money through a will and bought it straight out. Ive just turned 18 and I can afford the 5k loan and I have a pretty decent grant for college. The main reason that im doing this is to build credit cause I desperatly need it. So I should do h/cam and im a m6 so im good. Is there anything else that I shoudl get. I mean I want to be mid to low 12's still get somewhat decent gas mileage. Thanks guys, and to think i almost was going to finance a srt-4

Being an M6, I would look into getting a stronger rearend and clutch.

Upgraded clutch and rear will be necessary with the H/C combo. That will put you back another $3K or so depending on what type of rear/clutch you get.
