Default Bullet proof heads?

What would be the best parts to put into a set of 241 castings that are home ported and polished? I'm running a TR224 with comp918's. I know the springs are rated to .600 lift but is this the best way to go? Would duals w/tit ret's be better? what about lifters? comp-r's are popular. What about Rockers as well?
I dont want to build a million dollar pair of ls1 241 heads, just keeping myself busy til I can afford some ls6's. But if I can swap the componants over, except maybe the seats and seals or can you swap them to? I'll put the good stuff into them now.

The 918s are fine, doubles are extra insurance. Stock rockers are practically bullet proof, except of course the needle bearings that some people have had spill. You could have Nasty Performance upgrade the rockers for you. Titanium retainers should be a must for you, light weight, strong, whats not to like! Upgraded valves if you want to go all the way, Manley, Ferrea, REV. Stock lifters are very strong also, but high mileage ones should be replaced I think. Comp OEM replacments or Morels, no need for Comp Rs unless your wanting an adjustable valvetrain. Also some upgraded Comp Pushrods. Good Luck

I was thinking about dual springs just for the added insurance and stainless valves as well. The only rockers I have are on my 853 heads which are currently on the car. I wasnt sure if swapping them over would be a good idea. I know if I go with dual springs I'll have to do the seats and seals with them, but with the 241 heads on my bench its not a problem. I have TR hardened pushrods already. My thought is that maybe I'll have a custom grind one day just a few degrees bigger and want to be prepared in the valvetrain just in case. I know I'll never exceed .595 for a lift as I dont want to deal with p2v issues or even remotley close... but dual springs should be bullet proof as I can get with my current cam or even one bigger with less than .600 lift. Whats my best dual spring? Theres a few of them out there. I will change seats and seals so thats not an issue.

The Patriot dual spring kit is nice. Good to .650 lift and comes with seats, seals, titanium retainers, super 7 locks and gold dual springs and fits on stock heads with no maching required. PRC makes a good dual spring also, don't know any details though.

Best parts LS6 valves, 918's and titanium retainers. for that "smallish" cam they are more than plenty, and only ~127gr/valve moving assembly (ie: LIGHT).
That is what i run on mine on an XE-R 224/220.

I'm resigning myself to that fact as well, and also to save money. LPE has their own valves and retainers and they're inexpensive. I'm inquiring into them. s.s. race valves are supposed to flow better so I'm looking for stock size 2.02 1.57 ? I know the stock rokers are ok but I'd like to put some H.S ' on but it adds 380 to the project that isnt really needed. Right now I'm looking at valves($140-$204), tit ret's-around $144, and lifters-comp oe's for $190
LPE has their S.S 2.02 valves for $79 but I couldnt find the 1.57. Those would be my first choice for the price/perf

Stock valves are 2.00/1.55, 2.02/1.57 will need machining.

Get sodium filled hollow 02> LS6 valves on the intake and stock 1.55 exhaust. no seat machining required.
