I bought a used g5x2 cam 2 years ago and had no problems yet !!!!! That dont mean all used products are good . Plus I got it from LG Motorsports and they claimed they would warrenty it if I had any problems. As for the vette cam being the same as a f-body cam i'm pretty sure they are expect for the zo6 (ls6) model vettes.

Thanks for the help. I guess I should have asked the question different.
I have a 2000 Z71 with the 5.3. I am shooting for 14's
I found a good deal on a few used cams and am unsure what would be best.

one is form a 2000 camaro. one from a 99 camaro ss one from a 99 vette and a custom 209/218 .544/.563@1.7 114lsa.
I do a good bit of four wheeling, so want low end power, and its a daily driver so good idle is important also. I don't speak CAM very well so I really appreciate the help. Also will I need a custom tune? If so will a hypertech tune work till I can save for a Nevson tune?
Thanks

Thats fine .

anyways if u only have these choices and honestly they wont give u the big difference. though it will refresh your car . I dont have have any idea on the custom cam 209/218.

For me its not worth it to do these swaps , I would rather go for aftermarket if you r seeking low 14s . and must think to do beter than the 14s.

In short words these cams wont let u jump to the 14s unless u r spraying or something.

Yea forgot about truck forum. I know 14's won't be enough, but I figure little by little.
So you dont think the swap is worth the effort? The deal is killer thats why I was thinking. If its not worth it I'll wait and get a real cam. Just thinking I could wake the lil bastard up some. Thanks for the advise.

Would you happen to know the cam specs on the 4.8L and 6.0L Trucks, or are the the same as the 5.3s?

The Vett cam has a smaller base circle. (I think that's what it's called?) So if you put a Vett cam in a Firebird or Camaro you have to use longer push rods.

Nope, the vette cam is different than either one. But all of the stock cams are so small it really doesn't matter; they need to come out so you can put a big one in!
