I'm running 12.8:1 on pumpgas. can't remeber my dynamic compression ratio. its going to change with the new cam anyway...

Good thread! I am wondering the same thing, but I go back and forth all the time. I am leaning toward a 500-550rwhp n/a 402/408 + spray it and I'll tell you why.

It sounds like the cost would be a lot cheaper to do so (I heard a guy spent like $29,000 on his turbo setup on here!!!!) I think the cost would be < 10k to go the motor/spray route but I could be wrong (Please someone feel free to correct me). I think 550rwhp is great for the street, and if you for some reason see someone making it a 'good' race, then spray him. He is boosted most likely anyway (albeit most folks won't be able to tough you boosted vs. motor at that point anyway). If he complains about you 'cheating', just ask why he considers spending a tenth of what he paid on his setup cheating.

I dont know who could possibly spend that much on a turbo setup, but thats similar to what i spent on my motor/turbo kit and turbo/rear end and install (including fuel)

Build for boost... but dont shoot for real low Compression... that way you can have good strong motor... and put a single turbo and apx 9lbs of boost.. = 700RWHP easy.

IMHO

I'd build it for Nitrous. 11.5:1 compression, AFR 225's, 25x/26x .6xx/.6xx on a tight LSA. Shoot for 550 whp N/A and hit it with a 200 shot.

hey this something i wanna do, i wanna go with the option 3 b/c i think it would make a better daily driver with a punch. Now how would it cost me to have it built and installed(nos included) so that i will just save up money and not waste it on puting stuff on the ls1 with bolt ons and stuff like that.
