Default MTI or AFR heads?

Im on the market for new heads.

I have the TR224 cam and kooks headers

How much performance differance between the two heads.
I want to be at or just under 11:1 compression.

If im only lossing a couple RWHP. like 10 Im thinking about MTI heads

what's your car like with either

I would get some AFR's for sure they are the best since they have a thicker deck and just a better casting since they are aftermarket castings. I believe
they quench better also so you can run a little more compression with a given gas octane.

If money is not an issue and quality is what you seek along with best performance then AFR is definitly the way to go.

afr's is the way to go. They have done far more research and development to get the most out of there castings, also have unsurpassed flow for the price. A little extra money=better heads in the long run.....

I think if I didn't have the money I would purchase prc stage 2.5 or tea stage 1.5 5.3's they are both 1500 without core charge and they flow just as well maybe a little better than the cnc'd afr's. Just a thought.

IMHO, if you are building a NA 346 motor, the MTI Stage 2E are the way to go.

for $1700, they are a hard combo to beat.

You would go with the tea stage 1.5 5.3's? i was wondering this myself if i should get the tea or the afr 205. I have been debating it myself, it seems that the tea's flow better...
