Kirk,
I am hoping we can find a happy ending to this. I did buy this motor used with 1,000 miles and it was never sprayed on. The shortblock was built by ARE and the finall assembley like front and rear covers was done by 21st. I just want to know where all my power is going I know I have a small cam for a stroker but I should still be well over 400 I know that. I am going to work with 21st after lunch tomorrow to see what we can come up with.

Damn, that is pretty bad.. even with that small cam. I can't really tell by looking at that graph, but what was the A/F ratio. Do you know how much timing they have in the tune?

why don't you pull the plugs and also check compression/ do a leak down test to see if those two show any signs of a problem?! sorry to hear about your luck. I could only imagine the look on your face when that graph popped up on the computer screen......good luck with it!

Time to roll up the sleeves and do some digging. That cam in a stock cube engine would be expected to make the horsepower your currently at. The torque seems to reflect the larger displacement of the engine. It seems like one of several possibilities is happening. First things to look at would be to watch spark advance. A knock sensor can castrate a raging bull. I would check this first. Second, look over the fuel rails to see if they're any air leaks and that the injectors are not being repositioned by the injector rail. Is the injector rail aftermarket? If all looks well with spark and fuel, then start looking at the valve train. If your compression test is low, check lifter preload. Are your lifters stock or aftermarket? This would be my best guess at a starting point for diagnosing.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Let us know what you find out.
Good luck,
Richard

Who on earth picked that cam for that motor? I'm going with a 248/252 113 lsa, maybe you should just go to that too.

Whats the oil psi at. I had a stock rebuild 346 with heads/cam with most bolt ons, and was only dynoing around 350rwhp. We attempted to change the cam, and saw the cam bearings were shot. Not sure if that caused mine to dyno low, but may be something to look into. The oil pressure was at around 20 psi or so, so that was one sign for me that something was wrong.

maybe re-dyno and try to start sampling @ 3000. i think that will give us a better picture of whats going on. also, as i stated before, i'm not feeling too good about that exhaust setup.
