Default What Heads/Cam Combination do you recommend for my 2000 LS1 A4 Transam?

I have a 2000 Transam Vert with an A4, 3.73 rearend, whisper lid (with airbox cutout)/K&N filter, predator, throttle body bypass, 160 thermostat, exhaust cutout. Looking for a combination of great pricing and performance (well who isn't???)

1. What are the best heads/cam combinations

2. What are you putting out with this on 1/4 mile and HP?

3. How much will this run me including installation.

4. Tuning (I'm guessing more than just my predator tune).

thank you

California emissions legal would be nice (although that sucks).

my goals are kind of open depending on how much each option will cost me and what i will gain for it. if i can stay on the cheaper side and reap a hundred plus horses that would be great. am i living in reality by asking this?

and then how much for professional installation? I don't want to start this project and find out i'm in financially over my head.

thanks for the response

Okay, let's go over the basics again. Do you have header? I'm guessing not. Do you have anything done to the exhaust besides the cutout? You need to put the best possible exhaust you can on the car, and get an LS6 intake manifold. If you want the entire car to stay cali emissions legal you'll have to look at cams designed to work with a restrictive exhaust such as thunder's CheaTR. Unfortunately for the exhaust to be legal you'll have to run shorties with high flow cats, at best.

no header or true duals running back, just the stock exhaust with the cutout. i was trying to stay within cali emissions.

Before you put a head/cam package on it, you ought to get a converter.

If he makes his choice, then he can match the Verter to his set up for shift extention.
