Great deal on LS6?
My buddy (friends but not close) had this extream idea of selling his SS (01) and rebuliding his stealth with an LS6...
He bought the bareblock somewhere for $600 and 853 casting heads for $120. this doesn't include his shipping cost... He's flat *** broke he's got his camaro rolling again but his deciding he doesn't want to race anymore so his selling his stuff and getting married... He offered to sell me the block and heads for $600 all together...
Is this a good great or super deal?
I looked up the LS6 bareblock from GMpartsdirect and it was 1200..
Also my other question is how much do you think from here it will cost me to make it whole? ebaying....
Also does anyone know if the LS2 and LS7 heads are compatible with this LS1/ LS6 blocks??

Since the "1168" block was used in many F-body cars, they are readily available. As for the 853 heads...these aren't worth spending much money on unless you need some cores to turn in. LS6 heads are 243's so there isn't anything special about these 853's...
If you are building a motor and need a good block to start with (assuming that this block is in fact "good") then you can begin to look at the price. The heads are worth $150 so you're looking at $450 for a used block. It doesn't sound like much of a deal to me but that's just IMO.

I bought a new block from Shawn at SMC some time ago for around $650...I think that he is selling them for a little more than that now. If you can get the block for $600 and it's new then that would be a decent price even without the heads. Buy the block/heads then sell the heads and get some 241's or 243's if you want to get the most bang for your buck...
