Default Patriot Heads

I have a chance to get some Patriot heads at a really good price, the only thing is I don't know how good or bad Patriots heads are. I don't know if they are stage 2 or 3 heads though. All I know is that they that they are Patriot aluminum heads. Can anyone give me some advise before I spend the money. I would be getting these heads for about $900. Thanks in advance.

Boy, talk about a loaded question. All I will tell you is that patriot heads plus an amazingly good price is something I wouldn't spend money on.

Who are they from? Patriot had some quality and even customer support issues in the past, and discussions involving them still tend to get ugly.....

Oh yeah, BTW, this should be in the internal engine section.

most likely there stg 2 ls6 style heads with 2.02/1.57 or 2.05/1.60 valves and 59 or 64cc chambers. how old are the heads? if there fairly old i'd contact gunar and send them back for an inspection and freshening up.

I agree with jrp. I have a set of Stg 2 LS6 heads and am really happy with them. Try and find out how old they are and get in contact with Gunnar. Might be such a thing as he can get you into a new set for just a little bit more!

If you purchase these, we will be more than happy to inspect them at no charge. Give us a call and we can set everything up.

Thanks,

The heads are going to be brand new, and the reason I am getting them so cheap is because my uncle works in selling proformance parts that are put in Mustangs. His company makes springs and know someone through the company that can get me the heads for cheap.

I just installed a set of Patriot Stage II Ls6 style heads. They rock! I know PP had some problems before, but who hasn't. Even AFR has had issues with intake manifold sealing and valve guides being too tight. Anyway, not bashing AFR nor humping Patriot. Just stating my experience.

Just to be sure I got fresh heads, bought directly from Gunnar. Difficult to beat that set of heads for the price!

I did have a bitch of a time getting Racetronix injectors to idle properly with the setup, but that's a whole other story...

Well since I'm getting all this advise how about Comp cams? I can also get a discount with that too. How are those?

And with the Patriots, what was wrong with them, that people keep talking about?
