I am going to put new plugs in with my new motor, what plugs are good and recommended?

If you don't mind changing them NGK TR55's are great and only cost ~1.89 a piece.

NGK TR-55 here also. Really inexpensive at O'Reilly autoparts, so you can get them locally.

 

Most people on here will recommend NGQueers, but I recommend Bosch Platinums +4's. I've had alot of success with them, and you don't need to gap them at all. My throttle respoonse did improve also. I've seen them used in forced induction and nitrous app's also, but I'm not using nitrous or blowers.

Tr-55, and gapping is a piece of cake.

 

NGK tr-55. tr-6 is a colder spark and more applicable for nos

 

I hope you are enjoying paying 4 times as much for a spark plug that works no better. FYI ngk's are pre-gapped as well @.055, or at least mine were.

 

For me it is not an issue of money or gaps, it is an issue of how often you want to change your plugs. With my LT's, my #8 plug has gone from extremely difficult to what it think might be impossible - I installed the Bosch platinum +2's I have in now right before I put my headers in.

I ran TR-55's before and they may be better but not near enough to compensate for having to change them every year - I'd much rather spend the time it would take to change them installing my new cam.

Why would you have to change the TR55IX every year? Or even as often as DblPlat for that matter?

I've had the same set of NGK Iridiums in my motor for over a year now and they still look perfect.

 

I wish that I could install a cam in 25 minutes.. ..I can do the pugs in 25 minutes....do #8 from the bottom and it will take you about 1 minute to get one out and 1 minute to put another back in..with LT's or stock exhaust..I change mine about every 6 months..@ $1.68 a plug its no big deal...I check the gap on every plug..only take a few seconds to know its correct..
