Default LS6 Heads/FM-13 question

Considering purchasing some TEA stage 2.5 LS6 heads. Was about ready to pull the trigger when it came to my attention that I wont have enough Piston to Valve clearance if i mill the heads to gain compression. I know i will gain .5 points compression with the 243 castings over my stock 241's but ideally, i would want to achieve 11.1 or as close to that point as possible.

Do any of you guys have any first hand experience with this cam and these heads.

I have also been considering purchasing AFR heads and having TEA touch them up. Price will be about the same. I have LS6 cores already so if you value in the cost of the 2.5 port, plus 750.00 for the value of the LS6 cores ( what i paid ) the prices work out to be pretty much the same as having TEA hand finish some AFR 205's.

Which set up would i be able to safely run a 23X/23X Cam with?
how much mill? what gasket? thanks, ready to buy

Can't you order the heads with 59cc combustion chambers and get 11.x??

I'm pretty sure you can get the AFRs welded to custom sizes; I know you can get Patriots at custom sizes. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a shop to do it:
http://www.forcefedhighperformance.com/FFHPHeads.htm (probably stock casting)
http://sites.reachtheworld.tv/waterN...05234&DID=1225 (thinner deck than AFR, but great prices for good CFM)
http://www.lgmotorsports.com/shop/pr...3c2e32285a6cb2 (Mongoose 205-59cc)
http://speed-eng.com/store/index.php...49_484_888_894 (Mongoose 225 listed at 66cc, but Speed Engineering has a machine shop, so ask them if they can do custom CC sizes...)

I'm sure you can find more pretty easily on the web. Good Luck. I'd love to get the AFRs, but budget will probably dictate Patriot LS6 heads. I'm also looking at the f13 cam. have you listened to it on ls1sounds.com or in someone's motor, yet?
...get's me excited just thinking about it... where's my drool cup???

Done that research buddy! You gotta cut the pistons to make it happen. That is what pushed me over the edge and made me decide on the 408.

checked with local shop, they will not fly cut pistons with motor in car. Said they wont risk removing that much nor doing a non perfect job trying to reach the rear pistons...on to plan B..just got to figure out what plan B is.
