How the F did my engine blow?
My engine just blew, haven't opened it up yet to check what exactly happend, probably a connecting rod. But what could of cause this? It's not like I am running an major HP or mods, am I? I don't drive all that hard either. Oil was in the car, a little low, but nothing to cause this. Any insight would be apperciated.
guess its time for a 427ci

Sucks man. Sorry to hear. This is my 3rd motor. Nothing worse than trying to figure out what the frick went wrong. My first one, at 35K the oil pump let go and GM refused to warranty the car. Second motor was a broken valve spring that dropped a valve and took out the piston. Perhaps the nut behind the wheel.
Anyway good luck man.

what exactly happened when you blew it? were you racing it? what kind of sound did it make? Did the engine come to a stop, or did you keep running it and then shut it down, etc...?
that might be a good start.
I remember i spun a bearing in my motor after the heads/cam swap because of the faulty oil pump

Not running major horsepower my ***. 409 rwhp is a pretty good chunk. An FM14 cam is a big cam. You put lots of strain on the motor with that thing. What was the mileage on the cam and car when it blew?
