Awesome deal! I didn't want heads, but damn thats a price I can't look past. How much is shipping them things up to detroit? Would I save a good amount just bringing down my heads and buying them in person?

Can't wait to see the numbers these things pull.

Brent, could you elaborate more on the differences between the Stage 1 and Stage 1.5 heads and the power differences associated with each set of heads. Some of this I know, some I dont, but it would be good info to post regardless IMO.

I also had the same question as for budget heads, what's the major difference between your 1.5 5.3 head and this? How does it stack up against a stock LS6 head, I would think all three options would be around $1000.00, and with someone running a smaller cam, I was curious how each one would have certain advantages or power levels. Thanks,

Just adding my 2 cent and I am sure Brent will add/correct what I type.
The stage 1 isn't flowing what the stage 1.5 will. It is more for those wanting a set of heads but cant afford to spend 1500 plus labor plus gaskets, plus head bolts etc.
The main differences are the valves. The intake and exhaust valves are stock. Also the springs are a single comp 918 springs good for 600 lift and cheeper then the dual springs good to 650 lift.
The stage 1.5 will outflow these and out perform them in nearly every aspect except price.
Basicially the stage 1 head was made for those on a budget or those looking to add a few more ponies, but not go crazy. Kinda like what Bo White was doing.
As far as these vs a LS6 head, this is a good comparision.
To buy a LS6 head and a set of comp 918 springs you looking at around 1000 dollars.
A nice upgrade over stock LS1 heads.
Now for the same price you will get a head that outflows the LS6 head by a good amount, can be milled for different compression ratio's, and will have a very pretty shine on it.
This stage 1 head is gonna make more power then a stock LS6 head and be priced very similar.

the differences between this head and our 1.5 head is castings and valves. Obviouslt we do not supply new castings like we do with our 5.3 heads. And due to flow it will not make as much power as our 5.3 head.
We are very excited to be able to offer this new head since the flow is so good for the dollar spent.
We have not had any dyno testing yet to be able confirm our beliefs on the power the new Stage 1 head is going to make. But I would expect it be about 20 rwhp shy of our 5.3 head.
The nice thing is with the new 5.7 head even when milled to 59cc it does have more P to V than out 5.3 1.5 head. So larger cams will not be a problem.

About what range does that put it over a stock LS1 head then Brent (I say range because it's just an estimation anyway, but you also have different castings like the 853 and 241 obviously, and having 853 castings myself I probably stand to gain a few more horses). I have a power goal in mind and am curious if I can reach it with the Stage 1 heads, or if I'd need to go ahead and get a Stage 1.5 to do it.

the heads we flow tested were actually 853's
I don't want to spout out HP numbers until I have a dyno test or two. However I expect a 20-25 RWHP gain

Can this be done for a set of LS6 heads if I already have them? I like the lighter valves on the valve train. How would this work if I already have the heads?

This is another big reason I cut back on porting cylinder heads. Almost the same price I was charging with better flow

To give you guy's an idea on how good stock valve/ported heads can be.We had a car that pushed 435rwhp/410tq with stock ported heads,TR224 Cam,FLP headers,EWP and through a 12 bolt with 4.11 gears. The car drove like stock.I think these heads will do very well for themselves

this was about what i was looking for when i replaced my first set of heads.i wish i would have waited now, lol.what are the port volumes?i'm thinking they would work well with some of the smaller cams on the market.

Chris, Brian is going over the specs and as soon as he makes sure they are correct it will be a go.
