Like the title says, what is the highest compression you can run in an LS1 based motor? And how would you get there?

Some folks like Judson have run over 14:1 compression with custom domed pistons.

How about if you run a -2cc piston?

depends on your motor also...

3.898X3.622 - 346ci w/ -2cc pistons 59cc chambers. 3.90 Gasket Dia, and .035 quench is 11.4~

4.03x4 - 408 w/ -2cc Piston 59cc chambers, 4.04 Gasket Dia, and .035 quech is 13.2~

my motor is 4.03x4 - 408 w/ 8.6cc dome pistons 65cc chambers, 4.130 Gasket Dia and .037 quench is 13.9~

Do you get a 59cc head from milling? What head is it?

we ran 12.2:1(APPROX.) on stock bottom end, using 5.3L heads milled about .045 and a .043 gasket.

not sure what your plan is here, but most anything above 11.5-12 to 1(depending on where you live) is not very pump gas friendly, you may have detonation issues.
for street cars and pump gas use we usually recommend going no higher than the 11.5:1 range as with a good tune you can get by with that compression ratio all year round most anywhere.
