just changed pluggs . . . Car runnin bad! Hey anyone that can help, Ihave a 98' t/a and it was producing black smoke out the tail pipes, not sure what that was (people tell me it's runnin rich and the o2 sensors may be bad ), but I changed the pluggs yesterday(took me almost 8 hours well did really 7 do the other sat.) and now it runs horrible feels like a 4 cylinder or a lself propelled mower. n e way I took out ac delco and put in bosch and then cleaned my maf meter with carb and choke cleaner, and put some stuff in the gas tank and oil to clean out system. I know that was a lot but anyone know what I can do next, going to retrace mt steps sat. . any help is appreciated. . . 
Blinking Check engine light means Misfire is being detected. Make sure those plug wires are on REAL tight! I thought mine were on, but they werent. I don't remember for sure, but I think you get 2 clicks on the plugs. I can almost promise that will fix your problem.

yes, blinking SES means misfire. it's very easy to not get all the plug wires back on tight. you should hear/feel two clicks on the plug side when you put them on. make sure the plug wires are nice and tight on the coil packs too.

thanks all for the advice, really helpful thought it was worse, pictured myself on the side of the road w/ car on flames, oh TA quickness, I still need to do to change #8 plug; hands all gritty and cut up and kinda sore from squeezin' in diff. areas other than that it was great!
When you misfire, you are dumping raw fuel through the system. That will cause the black soot on you bumper.

Yes, its definately a misfire caused by the plug wires being improperly attached. Like they said, you need two clicks on the coil side.
I had the same thing happen when I installed my cam. I was really worried I had bought far too agressive a cam.

When you pulled the plug wires, did you pull by the boot or the wire?
If by the wire then you could have pulled the wire out of the socket.
First try to check a double click on the boots and firm pressing against the coils. If that doesn't work, I would just replace the wires with MSD 8mm ones.

cool all, I've re-done plugs (guy sold me the wrong plugs). Does anyone know what are TR-55 plugs, I hear a lot of people talkin' about these, I have bosch. I am havin the hardest time w/the #8 plug. Man I can get the boot, but I do not know how I will change the plug, then Don't want to leave the plug out if I can't get the plug back in, tried from underneath and from top, don't know, any ideas. . .
