Give Lou a call over at LGMotorsports and he'll give you the rundown. That cam is kind of risky without flycutting your pistons. A missed shift could be devastating with that cam choice. To be safe, I would recommend the G5X2 because it is a bit safer on the clearance, and it makes awesome power.

As far as heads go, read the post AFR vs TEA below. There is input from both sponsors.

To make the kind of power you want I would go with the TEA 2.5. Right now you cant get the AFR 225 in the small chamber. With a stock bore you would need to mill alot to get the 11:1 compression ratio. The 205 is a great head, but shown that the BIG cams dont yield alot more power than the small cams due to the limited higher lift flow. To be realistic you cant go wrong with either. IMO would be the TEA.

Only partially true. Small cams make BIG power with AFR 205 heads. That part is true. But what is also true is that big cams make even BIGGER power with the 205s. LG has made 530-540 rwhp with AFR 205s with one of his bigger G5-X cams. I made 433 rwhp with AFR 205s and a 215 cam. Stay tuned to see what kind of power I make with a 231/234 cam and the same 205 heads.

The way I see it is if you go with the LG cam, you should get the LG AFR heads also. That combo has put down awesome numbers on C5's

Flycuting will be a must.
Both heads will get you some very nice gains.
Price is very simialr as well when you add in the TEA LS6 core charge. I would try and get into a 64cc head and a .040 gasket for 11:1+ compression if you plan on making some big power.
If this were my own car I would do a 59cc head with a .040 gasket and pick between TEA and AFR.
That would net you 11.8:1 and make some serious power.
Budget is the key.
If you have 2300 bucks to spend on heads do the AFR's in not then spend 1700 on a set of the 5.3's from TEA upgraded to stage 2.5's.
It's only a 600 dollar difference which is huge to some and very little to others.

exactly. louis knows what works with his cams, he's used the AFR's exclusively as of late to put out some outstanding packages.
