Default Afr ??

I just bought a set of AFR 205 off a sponsor. I ask for them to be milled down so i could have a 10.75 to 1 cr. I received them yesterday and they say they've be cut .030 on the box. That seems like alot to me. So what i need to know is what head gaskets to use to give me a pump gas friendly c/r.Or if they heads are milled too much for that and have to be returned. It is on a stock LS1 block with a TR 224/112.Also will the stock 7.4 pushrod be ok or will i need 7.35s.

Thanks,
Anthony

fellow the link at the bottom.
Every .006 milled ='s 1 cc.
So if the ARF 205 is 66cc's stock milled .030 they are now around a 61cc head.

the OEM LS1 head gasket would enough but if you wanted a thicker one, go with the LS6 head gasket, it would be more than enough

the OEM LS1 head gasket will give you exactly 10.75:1
the OEM LS6 head gasket will be around 10.6:1

Actually, you're in luck. The AFR 205s are not as octane sensitive as stock heads of the same compression because of their superior combustion chamber design with the double quench pads. You can make lots of pump-gas-friendly hp with 11-1 compression. That's what I'm running!

Thanks for the replies!
Using that compression ratio chart i came up with 11.11 to 1 with a stock .054 gasket. And 11.38 to 1 on a .045. Is that correct?
And is 11.38 to 1 ok on pump? I can get 93 octane or if need be sunoco 94.

Thanks,
Anthony

Installed my AFR 205's milled .024 to 62cc with .040 cometics on vette, used 7.325 pushrods with crane 1.8 rockers, very quiet now. If you can find 93 octane you should be fine

Almost exactly what I got as well.
You will be fine with a good 93 octane and a good tune.

With a 61cc head, 3.960 .053 gasket I get 10.88-1, 3.960 .043 I get 11.17-1. I run 11.1-1 on 91 octane with 28 degrees timing and 0 knock. I would run the .043 gasket if it was me.

I am just using a 3.960 as the head gasket bore. It could be smaller, but it would not have a big change in static compression if you went down to say 3.930 with a .043 gasket it only goes to 11.18.

i calculated 11.2:1 scr using 3.910 bore .040 cometics with 62cc AFR's, on stock 04 vette bottom end, not a dd, but also can buy sunoco 100 unleaded if necessary

11.3 can be easily daily driven in any state that has 93 octane.
It is all in the tune.
I haven't even done a heads and cam package on a daily driver with less then 11.3 CR in the last year. There is just to much power, and gas milage in the added compression and we all run 93 octane anyways so might as well get the most out of our expensive *** gas.

I agree with jz. I had a 11.8-1 setup on 91 octane that I daily drove for a year. I would say up to 11.5-1 would work fine with 93 octane and a decent tune.

I had a 11.5CR setup on my old LT1 car and it would run on 87 and 89 octane with good tuning..

If you are wanting a little bigger gasket you can get the standard replacement FelPro #9284 PT, these are what I use to deshroud the chambers on heads when I did them. The bore on them are 3.985 I think.
