Rick's car was done by, JBZ racing, Disterbing The Peace, HPE did the motor, Kenjo Kelly does the tuning and Rick does all the wrenching on his car. But no doubt GoldRust (Josh) is an excellent tech if you choose to go that way.

Given the above information I think the HPE cam is way too much for your car.

Do you have stock heads? If yes, you will not see the gains that "S" cam's extra duration and lift offer over the F13 or similar cam. The "S" cam might be worth 10 or so more rwhp, but at 6,500-7,000 rpm. And it will probably have a softer bottom end. You said this is not a race car, but a daily driver. The "S" cam looks like a race cam to me. I would imagine the F13 or similar cam will trade 10 or so hp for 10 or so torque. The above dyno info for the "S" cam says 425hp and 375tq. I personally would prefer 415hp and 385tq.
Again, what is your cylinder head situation?

The HPE S cam would not need to spin to 7k rpm to make power or to make more powe than the F13. I also wouldn't call it a race cam, it's specs are very similer to the MS3, which I have on my daily driver and love it.

However I too think that based on what you have posted the S cam, or hte MS3 for that matter, is probably more than you are looking for. At one point you said you were not looking for the biggest or loudest, etc. Just grab an F13 and be done with it!

OK then. I sure as hell would not put a MS3, T-Rex, or this "S" cam on a stock headed 346" motor.
And yes, to me, a 238°/242° 605" 610" on 115 lsa is a race cam .

Ok guys here is where I got my info from.

Here is the dyno pull http://www.horsepowerengineering.com/media/MOV01342.MPG
Here is the cam at idle http://www.horsepowerengineering.com/media/MOV01344.MPG

Notice that the torque is WAAAY off due to the huge spikes.

My guess would be 425rwhp/370rwtq
BLASTER made 415/400 with the F-13. I'd much rather have that

There is a huge difference between the S/MS3 and a T-rex. Seriously now, 238/242 on a 115 vs 242/248 on a 110. That is well over 10* of overlap at .05 difference. The difference in duration between the S/MS3 and T-rex is the same as between the F13 and S/MS3.

My 237/242 .603/.609 113 is my incredibly fun and well mannered daily driver cam.

Like this one: User Name "BLASTER" - full bolt-ons + F-13 112+4 = 415HP & 400 FT-LBS

I would have gotten the 112+4 anyhow.

Exactly... unless your car is only for the track, just put the F13 in. I am getting ready to install my 5th cam this year, just experimenting with different combinations... I am pretty sure I will go back to the F13 when I am done trying other cams...

Good Luck,
