Default T-Rex in a Street Car....(Owners)

Who has this cam, and drives the car on the street? Who has an automatic, and drives with this cam.....I want to know if this will work in my car for a NOT DAILY DRIVER, but street driven car with an automatic. I heard the 110 lsa makes it hard to tune, and idle has to be set at 1000rpm.....

What other options do I have for a cam relitive to this power making?

My car has a 4000 stall and a 3.73..

Should be fine.

2muchricemakesmesick had that setup, but I think he had 3.90's in his 9" and a little smaller stall.

The cam can idle lower, its all dependant on the tuning done.
You can also check out the MS3.

Edit, I didn't read the last post correctly.
The T rex wouldn't be my choice in a stock cubic inch motor unless you have a weekend worrier.

JZ, he ment he searched for the MS3, as its made by TSP.

He's not looking for a daily driver, just a fun street car.

Both cams will make great power, and with his stall/gears, he should have no problem with either.
RevXtreme seems to be one of his shops, and from what I've heard they can tune pretty damn good. If so, there shouldn't be any problem running either cam on the street.

The Trex has made over 440rwhp stock headed through a t56/spooled 12bolt fwiw.

JZ said it wouldn't be his choice on a daily driver.

I think it would be a faily tame cam in your HPE 383. Could always call Erik up and have him get you something ground too.

.
I had it in my daily driven M6 / 4.10's for a few months and it wasn't too bad .... I personally wouldn't recommend it for a A4 though. JMO.

Rev Xtreme has Jeremy Formato as their tunner....he is VERY good, and tunes just about EVERY LSX car in Florida, and also travels to other states to do so too. Does mail order tunes too..... www.fasterproms.com he his cars and himself have been featured in magazines such as Corvette Fever and GM High Tech Performance.......

This car is all business when I drive. It is never the nice ride to the store and back home, it's riping up the corners on the way to the shop, or on it's way to the track where I beat it, or I just cruise around and have some safe fun.....I love it, and would like to have a cam so I can love it even more. Why have cutouts without a cam

I have looked this MS3 cam up, and I like it a lot. I will talk to Jeremy to see what he recomends.....

I have a T-Rex in my daily with a 4800 stall and 4.30 gears. It's not as bad as everone is saying. It's all about what you expect streetable to be. With a good tune it's fine to me. I drive mine every day back and forth to work to the track 3hrs and back......basically just like I did before I put the cam in.

If you are a tolerant person when it comes to your car's manners, get a good hands on tune and run big stall/gears you could do the T-rex. Personally I would put a T-rex in a street car provided it wasn't a daily driver, had the matching huge stall/gears and I didn't mind shifting it nice and high. Might want some upgraded rod bolts in that respect. Is a 4k stall big enough for a T-rex? I wouldn't think it was quite big enough for best results....maybe if you had steeper gears as well.

I daily drive the MS3 with a 4k stall. I think it's a very good combination for an aggressive street/daily driver setup. I will eventually add 3.73's as well (3.23's for now).

An LG G5X3 is similar to the MS3. Don't expect to find specs on it, they aren't 'public'. You can find the X2's specs, and the X3 is a little bigger.

F14 is a nice cam, just not nearly as big. I daily drove mine for 15k miles with a m6 and 3.42s.

After reading the above post I kinda get the idea you dont mind what the car sounds like as long as it isn't stalling at every light and is "driveable".
Dont throw a custom cam out the window.
A 4400 stall or bigger would produce the best track results but a 4000 stall should work pretty well.
I myself wouldn't daily drive a T rex in a 346 A4. However for a weekend street car it might not be that bad. Make sure you use some good ARP rod bolts and prepair to shift up past 6800RPM's
Good luck and keep us up to date.

As far as the 383 cubic inch guys goes. This cam will work damn well for you. You will still need some serious time in tuning it to get it very driveable but with a experienced tuner it shouldn't be a problem.

Just got off the phone wiht Jeremy Formato, and I will be the first to use Rev Xtreme's new Hybrid Cam (RX6). It is very similar to the Magic Stick, and will have a bit more agreesive ramp rate, clears stock heads too.

So my cam woes are now solved, and this is a cam Jeremy wants to get the best numbers out of so it is going to see the best tune he can give I imagine....

So stay tunned for the new cam from Rev Xtreme.....It will be a contender with the big dog cams for sure. :yup:

Sounds like a good plan, something new!
