Default Who is running stock timing chain and upgraded valve springs

Couple of questions:

1. Any problems?

2. How many miles on setup and which springs are you running?

No problems.
I have ran stock springs, CC 918's, and now PP Gold Duals. Stock Chain and gears, inspected at each cam or spring swap in the last 49,000 miles and no signs of wear or fatigue to the naked eye! Not to say this is the norm, only what I can attest to myself.

Ive run 6K with TEA gold dual springs on an ls2 chain, not exactly stock, but it is the current recommended ls1 replacement chain, and its only 28 bucks.

Changed cam at 60k miles. Only thing replaced was the cam and springs. Didnt have the money for pushrods so reused the old ones along with chain and oil pump.

Car is at 90k with no problems. Gonna change the pushrods when I replace the springs and keep everything else the same. I think with new springs motor should last another 30k miles until the next spring change.

stock chains are good.

However, since a double roller is less then $100 you are nuts to use anything else...

On the board it seems like every aftermarket chain has had its share of failures. I dont know if the causes were improper installation or what. There are no guarentees. Thats why I reused the stock chain.

Also, from my experience from mountain biking, gears and chains wear together. Unless you replace the chain often, eventually the gears wear to the old chain. Then when you install a new chain it slips over the gears.

I experienced this first hand. I installed a new chain on some old sprokets and the chain kept slipping and falling off. Installed the old chain back on and all the problems were gone. To sum it up, replace the chain often or not at all. At least thats how it is in mountain biking.

This is my reasoning in reusing the stock chain even with high miles.

even with aftermarket pulleys?? i think the ls2 chain is the way to go if your going to get a new chain. its thicker and will clear the pulley.

I have already gotten my new chain. Comp cams adjustable.
Will aftermarket pulleys work with that one. I would think so by looking at it. Single chain, new sprockets.

Still stock with no problems. Mods and springs in sig.

I didn't have enough miles on the car to changewhen I slid the cam in. Now I have 13xxx, which is still not enough for a new chain. Stock is fine.

I switched chains to the dual...cheap insurance. My stock chain had no signs of wear at 24,000 miles with all other stock parts.

I did my cam swap at 51,000. I upgraded valve springs and replaced the timing chain with another stock one and have no problems.
