The LQ9 truck motor has the same plate with fittings for a cooler, i believe. Somebody correct me if im wrong, get that part and a cooler and you will be set. Not to mention the lines.

The adapter mounts where the rectangular plate is located just above the oil filter. It also has one additional mounting bracket which supports the hoses that come with the adapter. I bought 5/8ths" hose and a oil cooler to use with the adapter, but I guess you could purchase the OEM cooler. The hoses have fittings on their ends which I'm guessing connect to the hoses on the OEM cooler. It does the job.

I thought the truck oil cooler lines ran into the alternator on the F-body?

Yes, that location is where a stock oil cooler will go on a heavy duty truck. Don't know if the truck's oil cooler will bolt to your car, but would assume not. I believe the design is simply a loop of hard line with some fins on it (like the power steering cooler). It's certainly worth checking to see if will work because it would be very simple and relatively cheap.
For a racing only cooler (I know of a guy who road races a supercharged F-body), He put a cooler behind the front license plate cover (cutting out the foam of the bumper in that region) and he can simply remove that plate cover to race. Under normal driving he doesn't need the oil cooling.

If the link I posted was read, you would see near the bottom of the page it shows the trucks oil cooler, and the part number. It also explains why it wouldnt work.

Why do you need an oil cooler? I thought oil lubricates best when it is 200 degress or so. I don;t think you would ever need this in a street application; right?
