your going to get a lot of opinions ...

but mine is no. stay with the standard AC Delco oil filter and you'll be fine.

I'm using the K&N oil filter and like it alot, not for sure if it's worth the extra money, but when it comes to oil and a filter I try to use the best.

Yep, the nut on the bottom is worth a few bucks to me.

Highly recommended. Pull one out of the box and look at how it is constructed compared to others. The extra capacity of the 2006 makes for a nice, clean 6 quart change. Wix is good and there are other good ones. I'm particular to the K&N 2006.

The K&N is one of the better less restrictive filters on the market, which means less oil will travel through the filters bypass with out getting filtered. On the flip side it does not filter out as small a particle as some of the others. I prefer the Amsoil filter which is slightly more restrictive than the K&N but has a finer filtering media... K&N would be my second choice. If you have some filter questions, here is a site to check out (Patman showed it to me a few years ago)... http://www.oilfilterstudy.com/

The K&N is my filter of choice, it flows extremely well, is build very solid (these things are little tanks!) and I've gotten excellent oil analysis results using them. If they stopped making them, my second choice would be the Amsoil oil filter.
