probably about 6000 rpm depending on the advance....it will be a stronger, narrower peak.......
you could see high 300s rwhp..... (I'm assuming you have long tube headers)......would be a cool cam (for a manual) but you will need a stall for it.......114lsa is much better for auto cars.....

The cam you speak of is a torque monster to the max. I used to have it in a m6 and have my old dyno graph but it's on my computer in the office. You need a reall good exhaust system for this cam to shine. Made 380rwtq by 3000rpm with stock heads in my 01 ss and 405rwhp/406rwtq peak. Peaks around 5800-5900rpm with a 106 icl (4 degrees advance). Plus, mine was on lazy comp xe lobes. Put this cam on an xe-r lobe or equivalent agressive lobe and it should rpm better. You could also add 1.8 rockers to the xe lobe for the same effect. Any questions you have I should be able to answer about this cam, put about 15000 miles on mine.

it will have a decent lope to it.....it's still not going to be "ProStock" by any means.....it's just not big enough (enough overlap).......but yes....it will sound like a cam

Cam had a good chop to it. Keep in mind the cam I switched to from this one was a 230/237 107lsa, 107icl cam which had a little more chop to say the least.
I'll make sure to post that dyno up for you guys. Driveability was very good with this cam. Any good tuner can help you out. Keep in mind guys, this cam has hardly no overlap compared to others out there.
Like I said though, if you were going to try this cam I would use the same duration numbers at .050" but use a more agressive lobe or 1.8 rockers with the xe lobe.
I'll make sure to post that dyno up for you guys. Driveability was very good with this cam. Any good tuner can help you out. Keep in mind guys, this cam has hardly no overlap compared to others out there.

What kind of exhaust did you have? How does this thing make so much torque? I thought the tighter LSA would make for a peaky engine?

Be cool to play with that on an adjustible chain. I'd like to see that on 108 or 110 ICL.
DAP's right about the overlap. When you think about people running a 230/232 112 cam as pretty popular, that's roughly 7* at .05. You could run a 224/224 109 cam and have 6* overlap. Run it straight up or on a 108 ICL and I bet you would see excellent torque at 3500 and peak no higher than 6200.

When I dynoe'd my exhaust consisted of the remains of a very very terrible y-pipe, a u-pipe if you will. What I mean is that I cut the y-pipe up and just ran the pieces that connected to the header with no mufflers open. Essentially open headers (hooker long tubes at the time), with extensions though to avoid the outside air getting in and skewing the oxygen sensors. The Y was a very very bad piece though, a local exhaust shop did it and did a terrible job. At the collector the pipe had literally about 30% of it blocked off by welding slag where the pipe joined to the flange.
The key to this cam's excellent torque is that I had a good exhaust setup with a fairly late opening of the exhaust valve. This I believe will allow the power stroke to be fully realized by not opening the exhaust valve early and relieving the mechanical force of the power stroke. However, late opening of the exhaust valve can contribute to blow down loss (the cylinder having to literally force the exhaust out of the exhaust valve) if the exhaust system is not up to par. I truly think what held this cam back in the higher rpm range was the early intake valve closing point of this cam. Would be interesting to see what a cam with a 230 intake lobe, same exhaust lobe, on a 106 icl with a 110 lsa would do, with a very good exhaust system ofcourse.
If you decide to run this cam do it with true duals or a very good y-setup (flowmaster collector). Opening the exhaust valve later is great for torque but with out the proper exhaust can really hurt high rpm power.

I find it odd that the sponsors don't market more of the shorter duration, tighter lsa cams like a 218-220 dur, 108-110 lsa. Although they may not dyno as high as the larger duration cams, they will make great street/strip cams, strong mid range, and have the rump-rump lope that many folks desire. I guess peak dyno numbers sells cams. Too bad track numbers don't carry the same weight as dyno numbers to the newbies.

i have a custom 224/224 comp grind on a 111lsa and i LOVE the lope, sounds just like the big cams. its a very streetable cam, ran it for a while with no tune and no problems, once tuned there is no idle surge or anything. the cam peaks around 6k. great street cam.
