Yes but these are a aftermarket casting.
FROM what I see the casting is very similar to a stock casting but with a taller deck and different material used to make the castings.
This price will even put a huge hit on stage 2/3 Patroit heads.

This an incredible price, it's about time someone is being honest about the pricing of heads. I'm not saying other companies have been ripping us off, but there are so many LSx engines out there now that the market is large enough for prices to start dropping to these levels. R&D and production cost are fairly fixed cost. If the market is small the consumer will pay top dollar. However, as the market size increases the manufactures can sell a lot more of them and don't need to have as much markup to recoupe their costs.

Does anyone know if Dart is going to release anything larger than a 225 head?

One other question, do these Dart heads have a thick deck for N2O / FI use? If so, how thick?

I cant wait to see these babies, hell I might go 225 as most ported heads are in that range and seem to work well..I believe the 205 would be better for my wimpy cam (214-222 559-566) though but who really knows yet....

I like the fact that Darts pricing them this way,its a smart move as it'll have ALL other vendors looking to sell thier heads accordingly..The only problem I see is if they dont flow as good as they say.I cant believe a company such as Dart would make a head that wasnt close to there CFM numbers? They look pretty good to me if they come with a good single/retainer and a good valve there gonna be hard to beat...

IMO its gonna be a killer head for most guys....

I'm thinking the price may be without valves and springs... No mention of valve type or springs.
Their definition of assemble may just mean seats and guides...
I think thats a good idea, a little cheaper but allows flexibilty of component selection.

I am also gonna say that for that price your probably not talking about top of the line valve train components.

If they do come with valves/springs/retainers as long as there a decent single (600 lift) spring, decent valve it'd be hard pressed to say there werent worth 1300 a set...

how about getting a set and sending them to TEA to see what they can do with them. I mean for what you pay for the AFR225's you can get a set of heads build and worked out proly better than the AFR's but only time and testing will tell

If the price is right that would be a great option.

Default dart heads

just best to wait and see. Dart usually uses regular small block chevy parts on their assemblies. you will probably see single 1.250 springs, steel retainers and rubber seals with no locators. I may be very wrong, that is just what I suspect. I hope they are what they say all the way around. It's been a while since we've used their products on a regular basis. We are looking for another head to use other than stock ones. It would be very nice if it works out

At just under $1300/set they are competition for PP. Which is probably one of the reasons PP lowered their price. And PP will customize the valve size and cc for that price.

AFR and ET have a more custom setup. Both good. Some higher end stuff from ET.

The TEAs and Carteks will work other heads. The Darts will probably be another alternative to porting LS6 castings. Some how I don't those will equal the high end ETs and AFRs, although lots of people say a ported LS6 can out flow an AFR205. However that doesn't take into account combustion chamber and port velocity advantages in the AFR.

The Dart head will be another strong option in keeping LS1s going strong.

The Dart is 205 CC
The Dart flows very close to an AFR
The Dart is 62CC which is perfect with a .045 gasket..

They also have a 225 too...

I think u might be in for a real suprize DaveNJ

Who cares what parts they have.... a bare set can be setup and ported for cheaper than a set of LS6 castings with better results, sounds like a winner to me.

Default dart heads

http://www.dartheads.com/ls1.aspx
i just called jegs and talked to the sales rep, he said these heads are on order and should be ready to ship in 2 to 3 weeks, he said the heads will be assembled and a complete bolt on. he wasnt sure what springs the heads would come with but his impression was that they would come with a double spring. the 205's have 2.02/1.60 valves and the 225's have 2.05/1.60 valves

Did you happen to get a price for the assembled heads?

I was expecting a higher price than that for sure. I was thinking/hoping they'd be something to compete with AFR, if not out do them with a new casting.
ET heads still, IMO, seem to be a better "custom" setup, and have a ton of options to go with.
I'd like to see what they end up with however. Looks promising.
