Begun the Head/Cam swap......a few pics
We've begun the Head/Cam swap on my SS. The heads that are going on are MTI Stage 2E, ported of course. The cam going in is a TR224 112 LSA. We started pulling stuff apart yesterday, and got to pull the cam tonight. We're taking our sweet *** time with it so we don't screw it up. We'll probably get the heads off tomorrow. Pics of the heads soon.

sorry to hijack but noticed you had a GTP. Nice dyno numbers. got a question. buddies got a 2000 GTP, he has cold air kit, 3.25 pulley, DHP computer, 3" downpipe, no cats, no resontor, no u bend, heat shield, descreened maf, stock mufflers w/ cutout, think it will dyno over 250 FWHP? he says no but im think it might. its a 4 door and before downpipe and PCM upgrade the car went 13.708 @ 103 with 100 octane.

I know a guy who had similar mods done to his GTP, he also has LT headers and a cat-back. He put down 242FWHP, and 296FWTQ. Might be close.

Yeah, I agree with 777. The lifter retainers will hold the lifters but they can and have been know to, fall out. Nobody really knows how long they will hold the lifters either. A more proper procedure would be to remove heads, pushrods, and lifters (you have to replace pushrods anyway with a higher lift cam), before removing and swapping the camshaft.

3. Never said you couldn't figure out how to put a cam back in.
4. Never said you weren't an expert.
5. Never said I was an expert.
So where did you get the above information from?
