AFR 205s + Thunder TRak Cam = 487rwhp/436rwtq
Now I'm finally reaching the potential of this Thunder Racing/AFR package. For those who may not know, I'm running off the shelf AFR 205s with a .030" mill along with Thunder Racing's awesome new cam featuring Comp's new LSK lobes. Called the TRak cam (specs in signature), it pulls very hard to 6800.
Back in August, Thunder Racing installed the cam with Kooks headers and catted y-pipe. Since I was in a rush, we didn't get a chance to do much in the way of tuning. The result at the time was a very respectable 455/402 output. Since then, I've gotten EFI Live and with much input from tuning master Geoff Skinner from Thunder Racing, I've been able to get quite a bit more power out of my combo.
Today in full street trim (Kooks catted y-pipe, full belts, SLP dual dual catback) the car put out 472rwhp,420 rwtq. Next, I wanted to closer duplicate the results that Tony Mamo got with his C5. I needed a better exhaust and an electric water pump. With help from LS1 Joe, we bolted up a pair of 3" extensions with bullets on the ends and replaced the y-pipe and cat-back. Next, we did the short belt/EWP mod. The result was a very nice 487.59 rwhp and 436.81 rwtq.
Whoever says that Tony Mamo's numbers can't be duplicated need to pay closer attention to following Tony's "recipe". I've added a new twist to the recipe that Tony plans on adding to his C5: Speed Density Tuning! No MAF. The dyno run shows street trim verses race trim. Apologies for the light printer color. I'm going to get an e-mail of this dyno and try to re-print. I will post when I get a better copy.

very,very nice!! however, this is more a topend performer is it not? it kicks in hard after about 4100rpm for you hp and its kinda hard to tell your tq. just an obervation..not doubt the thing is a beast though!

And the idle is sooo smooth and the driveability is incredible thanks to Speed Density tuning.

Nice numbers!
I am hoping to crack the 390 area after I stick some TEA 5.3L Stage II heads on mine........I will be more elated if I crack the 400 area but my track times and MPH will be my bottom line.
Post up some track times if and when you can.

That's awesome Patrick-just friggin awesome! Is there any advance ground into that cam? Those are some very impressive results for a cam with such small duration at .050. The torque is very impressive-the car must be a blast to drive on the street! I guess I'm going to pullin the heads to do some flycutting!

You should republish the cam dimensions. Aren't you producing numbers some get with cams in the mid-high 230s low 240s with a smaller cam.
Great results. Imagine a bigger heads, bigger bore would produce even higher peak numbers at the cost of some low end. Love that cam.

I used a 4" diameter 4" long piece of exhaust pipe in place of the MAF. I connected the pipe to the TB by using a 4" hump hose. It's pretty much 4" all the way from the lid to the TB. We actually lost 4 rwhp when we ran with the TB completely open. I'll have pictures posted soon.

350 rwtq at 3000
375 rwtq at 3500
400 rwtq at 4000
436 peak torque at 4800.
Torque is about the same as cars with 224/224 112LSA cams down low and close to 236/244 cams up high. Street manners are close to a 224 cam now that I'm running speed density.
