Default Thinking about doing a stroker

This weekend I find out if my rings are bad or just my valve seals. Last week I took my spark plugs out and all four on the driver side had oil in them. What does it cost to rebuild a LS1 stock? LS1 forged internals? 383 stroker or 402, 408, or 409 stroker? Any suggestions please help. What changes or what would I need to do for this. What power should I expect? How much does it cost to install?

The first thing I would do is run some searches. All the information can be found through some searches. Once you read a little to get a better idea of differences between the motors, then call up some of the sponsors and talk to them about combinations.

going to a 383 (4") or 395 (4.125") will be the most economical route. The 402/408 requires a new block.

yea if your going to overbore the stock ls1block, you may want to go with a new block (unless your getting the ls1 sleeved) you can't overbore this block much

you dont need to use a new block for a 408 but you do for a 402 unless you find one that can clean up in a .001 or less hone which never happens

either way you arent useing the stock block
so with a 402/408/410/etc you have to get a new block (used or not) its still new to the car.

I meant new to him. He can't get 400+ cubes out of his block without sleaving.

He'll probably need a new (unused) block unless he wants to go iron block. Is there much of a supply of used Aluminium 6.0l blocks?
