FYI The Amsoil SDF Filters are no longer in production and state obsolete when I try to order online. The new replacement filters are the new EaO filters. These are very impressive filters and I think they will surprise the filter industry.

What kind problem with higher revs? Power loss or oil pressure loss?

I have always used the Mobil 1 filter thinking it was one of the best.. I gues si'ma sucker to big name brands sometimes though!

I may try K&N out.. let me know the prob with the Mobil filters though?

I use Amsoil 0-30. It says on the bottle once a year or 35k miles. I will go one year however I think I will move to 10-30 next time to quiet things down a bit, though I believe the 0-30 would be superior at startup.

I just did the oil change and the oil filter I got was the SDF32.Will see how long this oil stays clean and how it holds up as far as consumption and usage. Also BlackHawk T/A 10w-30 not worth it use 40 weight.Thats just my opinion though.

Patman, do you have an explanation, or did I hear/understand wrong?? If I recall correctly it was a high rpm flow problem?

I have a question for you Patman. I switched to the 5w-40 amsoil in my 402. It never used any oil before, but now I'm noticing some consumption. I was running 4qts 10w30 + 2qts 15w50 Mobil1. Was wondering if I might just need to move to a 10w-40. Tia

i've been using amsoil 10w40 since i got my cam in. oil pressure goes up a few points and valvetrain quiets down bit compared to mobil 1 10w40. luckily one of our local speed shops started stocking amsoil, so now that it's readily available i wouldn't go with anything else.

Amsoil's 0w40 is not really for use in automobile engines though, it's more of an ATV/Snowmobile type of an oil, and it's not rated for extended drain intervals either.

I think this is the stuff i'll be trying next oil change. I'll see if piston slap quiets down from my Amsoil 0-30.
