Default Best for Custom Grind Cam???

So I was hoping to get some feedback on the best place to go to get a custom grind cam. Any sponsors? I wanted to be able to tell them my setup and have them grind a cam for me. Thanks.

I've always been kinda partial to Comp Cams but I'm sure you'll get a lot of different answers on the topic. If you call Comp they'll ask you your setup and then they can custom grind you something.

There is EDC (Ed) on this board that custom specs cams. Also there is 53Pony (different approach, I like his methods).
Off course Futral, Thunder, TSP are amongst the ones that do that too.

I've had three custom grind cams built for LS1 motors, two from Comp and one from Futral/Cam Motion. I was happy with all of them, but I'm kind of partial towards the Cam Motion lobes.

yeap.. If you want to get a feel of what his trend is check out the cam discussion threads. His methods are somewhat Orthodox, but yield some interesting results.

Contact Rob at Auto Shop Motorsports, board sponsor, and he can set you up with a Bullet custom grind.

How are the lobes going to affect performance?

Lobes affect performance under the curve mainly. The harder/faster the ramp rates the more under the curve power (typically). I'm going with a comp xe 224/224 .565/.565 110+4LSA. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. It should be amazing.

I'm interested in something like that too. I was thinking about getting the same thing, or maybe a 226, but on a XE-R grind w/110+2. I'll hafta talk to comp first, but anyways, I'm also anxious to see your results! keep us posted!

Why? My car won't be able to spin them Actually even with this cam my car spins in 2nd gear at ~3500-4000rpms to redline, just by punching it It's probably mostly the tires (even though they have over 1/2 tread left)

Well I ordered it two days ago. I'll be installing it on veteran's day if I get off work, otherwise it should be saturday. I'll let ya'll know ASAP with my driving differences. Then I'll go get it tuned a week or so later and give you the dyno numbers.

It might be running pig rich on a 231/237 tune. I wouldn't drive it too much if so, in order not to wash your cylinders and fould plugs etc....

I'll drive it and check the plugs to see what's up. My tuner said it would be a little off, but no big deal. I kind of don't want to get it re-tuned because it's going to cost me $250, but I'll get him to redo it without the hypertech in there and sell it for $250 or whatever I can get for it. So hopefully I'll come out of this spending less than $200. Selling my cam and the hypertech.
