So what are you saying???
This is my next item on the to do list. Good set of heads,AFR,s that is. Was kind of torn between the 205,s and 225s for my FI set up, but I think I would be best to go with the 225,s.

So who did you get them from and was there a long wait???
Are the ones shown the fulley assembled version.??

If you order a set now, you are in for a wait. Unless you find a set somebody has in stock. Those are few and far between right now. I actually picked mine up off of Ebay. Yes, the ones in the pictures are Part number X1630 with the upgraded 8019 Springs, fully assembled.

Thanks Ryan
So let me ask you, do you think 225,s are better for a FI setup on a stock block vs 205,s. The reason I am leaning towards 225,s is that down the road if I go to a bgger block-stroker -ect that I will be ahead of the came with the 225,s vs 205,s.
I am just a bit aperhensive that they might be to much for a stock block. With the exception of forged pistions-rods and cam to go in at the same time as the head swap.

Hey Chris,

What style heads did Tony suggest for your FI set-up?

As far as Items changed go:

Forged Short block (370" Futral) Dropped CR from 9.4 to 8.9
AFR Heads
Better Turbo Manifold (updated, larger runners)
Accel DFI (not really a perfomance increase, just better tuneability)
Converter change from a too tight SC3000 (2400 Actual) to a PYE 3400
Rear axle changed to 3.50 vice the 3.70's now (Moser 9")

Thats pretty much it. There are a couple of suspension items too. Still running the smallish 226/222 Cam Motion cam fron this year. Nice thing about the turbo is being able to keep the RPM down, I still shift at 62-6300 rpm.

Hi Ryan
What size is the combustion chamber? It looks like 72cc - just a wild guess.
Thanks

For forced induction I think 225cc are the only choice even on a stock cube engine. With the 225cc heads, Mahle pistons 9:1, my custom blower spec camshaft, ATI D1SC kit, 8rib at 9.5 psi of boost the combo made around 640rwhp, and has no problems down low. It is very driveable. So my recommendation is go with the 225cc heads if forced induction is in your future

Really who did you buy them off of?? Someone in NY or out of state. I usually put my stickers on all the AFR heads that show up at my shop.
