How much power to trap 120 in the 1/4?
I have an m6, hardtop, no options z28 (so its as light as they come) and my ultimate goal is is to trap 120mph in the quarter mile. Et's are not as important to me as most of my encounters w/ cobra's, vettes, etc are from a decent roll. Within a couple months Ill have all the bolt-ons and be ready to make a heads/cam purchase in the spring. If you are tapping 120 in an m6 f-bod let me know what it took! Thanks.

~3700lb raceweight, 300' altitude, 432rwhp(~stock ls1 on the bottle) 11.7@120. 320rwhp on motor same weight trapped 109. Id say a 3500lb raceweight (easily attainable) close to sea level DA, 400 at the tire would do it.
Rule of thumb I use (not entirely accurate, but if your around 3500lbs/300-400hp its close) is 100lbs = 10hp = 1mph/.1et. Just what I've seen with these cars at the track.

A good rule of thumb for trapping 120mph, is a 7.5lb / 1rwhp weight to wheel horsepower ratio. Of course gearing helps this along, but like others have said, if you're right at 3500lbs, 420-430rwhp should do the trick.
