Default how much was your cam intall?

the way my numbers look, including ls2 chain, springs, pushrods, etc. and $600 for installation and $400 for tune, im looking at around $2000 for a cam install. that seems too high. how much did you pay when all was said and done for your install? thanks!!

Of course your cost for parts is going to vary but I've seen like $400-$600 for a cam install (labor).

Anywhere between $300-$700 here, depending on what shop you go to. That's just labor, BTW.

I paid $2995. This included all Comp hardware including 921 springs and cam
($~1200). Also included UDP, ported throttle body, 160 degree thermostat,
double roller timing chain, ported oil pump and tune.

if you went to a regular shop and they looked at the book time. i think its 12.5 hours, and they are going to do it by pulling the heads, since that is what all the manuals say. 12.5 x $90 and hour is only $1125.

2000 seems about right, afetr buying everything, install and tuning. you could save money and do it yourself, or buy used parts. you will still have around 400 for tuning.

I did mine myself, can get them done with springs in a long afternoon easily. The right tools and a little experience go a long ways. Doing those sort of things on the side helps pay for college
