Alot of us come off as knowing (or thinking we know everything) everything because this is what we eat, breathe, and sleep, but we are ALWAYS in the quest for information that maybe you might be able to give us.
*edit*- I just remembered you are the one helping Mester with his engine/top end. Did you give SDPC a call to tell them how to do it? I cannot wait to see the results from that beast!

Do I work for Morel, No. What I do know is Ed Morel, his GM, and his 2 head engineers stay every year in my home for the Bristol Drags and 1 circle track race and have for the past 4 years I am also the person who pleaded with them 6 years ago to get back in the lifter business. Ed Morel, Scott, Rick, and Adam I call friends.
I have communicated with all parties. Yes it should be a nice build.

I pointed them forward last time.....there is a groove that goes around the area where the hole is so it would seem that it would not matter as it appears tha either way oil would get in the hole, I just would like to know for certain.

as long as the hole is in the galley you should be fine.

Oil pressure reaches the oil hole requardless or where it is clocked just like the OEM lifters.
Also Chris Straub here is a great guy and never ever dishonest and always helps me out. He is telling everyone the exact truth as far as he knows it! He has helped a lot of people out and just doesn't want people getting ripped off or mis-informed. I simply saw one set and they did look identical but that's all I know about them at this point. I thought that maybe Ed had seen these or there were more than one type of lunati hydraulic roller but I don't know if he has seen the ones I have.

I have a few questions. I am getting ready to buy lifters, and am strongly considering the Morels. I also like what Chris just related about the company and I really love stuff that's "Made in the USA".
Someone posted a weight on the Morel, does anyone have the weight on the stock unit?
Someone posted lifter pre-load, was this a cold or hot setting figuring the block/heads grow about 0.030 from what I have read when they are up to temperature?
Are the Morels longer/taller, in other words, if I just swapped lifters would I also need to get new push rods?
Thanks for any information, this thread has been very informative and helpful to me.

The Morel's are heavier than OEM - I don't know by how much
Morel's should be set up at about 0.030" cold preload
The lifter cup in Morel's sits about 0.080" higher than OEM so you would need a PR adjustment.
Erik - Do you have any Morel's on your shelf? I might like to come by and measure one.

its mentioned on post #16 and after (stock1090)....can anyone shed some more light on the dynamics behind that and maybe an explanation of how its done?
Thanks!
