Default How reliable are Cometic Gaskets for a Street Application

I have been reading a lot about Cometics leaking. Are these reliable gaskets on the street?

If deck serfaces are straight and smooth they should not leak.

If there gunna leak, you should notice it right away. Mine leaked, but I believe the deck surface was questionable. My new motor will be getting them.

Bringing this back from the dead for more data, plus someone else is asking and was told by a shop that Cometics aren't made for a DD.

Cometics are just fine for a daily driven setup. We sell and install them on DD cars all the time. With the right surface prep (as required for any gasket) is crucial to ensure a good seal. I recommend putting a thin coat of copper gasket spray prior to install to help them seal. I personally have reused my head gaskets on my 408 twice now and they have held up to a 300 shot, no problem!

We carry several bore sizes and gasket thicknesses on the shelf. Let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or need pricing!

the point I was making is that a Cometic is a MLS . Multi Layer Steel and Gm uses MLS.

No problems here. Over 8k miles and have been reused twice. I also sprayed them with a little copper sealant even though Cometic doesn't recommend it.
