rocker bearings breaking after trak cam install PLEASE HELP!!
ok guys i just replaced my tr230 for a Trak cam specs are 232/235 644/592 112lsa, we installed patriot gold dual valve springs kit with the set up, everything looked fine and it turned on right away we left it on for a while and then truned it off to add coolant, the second time we turned it on i heard a clicking sound so i took off the vavle cover and i saw a broken bearing on the rocker on the intake side so i replace the rocker with another one from a extra set, i fired it up and again i heard the same clicking sound on the oppoiset side so again i took off the valve cover and saw another broken bearing on a intake rocker i figered something is wrong but i continued on replacing the rocker so i fireded it up one more time and the dam clicking was there again, it was another intake rocker with the same problem. i called thunder racing and they said i needed to install comp cams 921 spings only with the trak cam, i dont know what the diffence is on the springs, there both .650 max lift, can someone please help me figure this problem out.

Did you fill the rocker body (where the bolt is) with oil? Wondering if lack of oil at startup and high spring loads are overloading/heating bearings. Not sure what heavier springs are going to do, especially if they failed at idle which you have indicated. Something is wrong and you need to figure out the problem.

Since it's only happening on the intake side make me think it is a spring issue. Like said above, either coil bind or the retainer is coming in contact with the seal which should be really easy to tell. I don't think you should change cams, just get the recomended springs. I think you will find that that is where your problem is.

Comp 921s are designed to handle more lift plus they have greater pressure. That's what I'm running with my TRak cam. Stock rockers and stock lifters. No problems at all.

That a bullshit response from Thunder, they should be more helpful than that and ask some more ???s about your setup and not just recommend you spend another $500+ on something you dont need. that makes me never want to deal with them
