Because of this thread, I checked my oil pan 97481234 times before I put it all together. You should've seen me in my garage shaking the crap out of this pan to make sure there weren't any washers or **** in there. I'm still kinda worried.

Figure I should update this. The car is back together, the new block is in along with the heads and cam...I got the FAST setup as well on and it put down a little over 440rwhp with a restrictive *** exhaust. So I am stoked for sure right now thats its running and running pretty damn good at that, still has some stuff that needs to be tweaked with a bit till it runs like I want. Other than that though, I am never going to touch the car again besides from washing and driving.
Another lesson learned was it would of been A LOT cheaper to just have someone who really knew what they were doing to install the heads and cam. There is just to much small **** that can go wrong and **** everything up. If you do decide to mess with the internals please take your time and really pay attention to what you are doing and have done during the install.
ALSO BE SURE THAT THE PARTS YOU BUY ACTUALLY WORK! it sucks tearing everything down several times.
peace.

Wow, I checked my e-mail this morning and I thought that I was having an acid flash back. Anyway, it has been so long since I last checked this thread that I cant remember if you ended up going with bigger cubes. If so, exhaust will free up some power but fuel could be a big issue. I was running bigger (60#) injectors on my setup but still had the stock pump. I was very dissappointed with the numbers. Once I changed out the fuel pump, I picked up almost 50 rwhp. Good luck and thanks for posting the final outcome.

i had a rag in the intake opening while i was porting my throttle body - my dad wanted to move my car... the hood was down (but not completely closed) and he didn't realize there was not throttle body on the car.
he turned the car on, and it immediately went to 6,200 rpm for a couple seconds... the rag was turned to heavy lint and all over the garage floor... my #1 piston was trashed, and cracked the block.
it sucked paying for that one! that was back in '03 with the orange car.

I guess that's why step one of so many mods says to remove the battery cables.

Congratulations! It was a long (and painful) road, but you stuck with it and and ended up with great results. I think this thread will hold the record for longest thread ever on LS1tech for a long long time.
Now go enjoy your new ride.

Crazy it took this long to get back up after all this time, but congrats to sticking with it.
Did I mention the car that my brother did and left a paper towel in is still running today after a little cleanup? In fact, running quite well That was several years ago now.
