Blue Smoke????
i have a 2000 ls1 trans am ws6 and it blows blue smoke every now and then if i open it wide open. it doesnt do it all the time the car has no cats and an x pipe and 1 chamber turn downs and it seems to do it the worst when it is cold. There seems to be no power loss and it just burns some oil just wanted some feed back!!!! PLEASE help im concerned
Just thought of something else... oil could be getting down past your valve seats. When it sits for a while and the engine cools, there is more clearance for the oil to get down in there (you say it does it more so when it's cold).

First off, dont rev a cold motor. Youre asking for trouble if you do this.
But I agree that the pistons and rings will have sloppy tolerances until the motor gets up to operating temp.

wouldnt it smoke at every wot run all the time if it were the rings im thinking it may be the pcv no smoke out of teh oil cap and it seems to fire fine with normal ls1 oil consumption 1 qt ever 1000-1500 miles
